Disaster Preparedness

As the designated First Receiver for the City of East Palo Alto, the staff at Ravenswood Family Health Center has been trained through a disaster preparedness program called CERT (Community Emergency Response Team), as well as being CPR and First Aid trained. RFHC has a disaster preparedness program, with a disaster team who’s goal is to prepare clinic staff and the community to respond to a disaster. In order to meet this goal, RFHC has collaborated with the Menlo Fire Department, San Mateo County, and others.

How You And Your Family Can Be Prepared:

Being prepared BEFORE a disaster is important. Below is a list of items to include in a basic disaster kit for you and your family. This kit could make a difference in getting through a disaster. You should be prepared to live without the things that we use everyday, like gas, electricity, water, and telephones. You should be prepared for more than 3 days after a disaster.

  • Food
  • Water
  • Clothes
  • Flashlight
  • Whistle
  • Duct Tape
  • Garbage Bags
  • Radio
  • First Aid Kit
  • Identification Papers
  • Personal Support Items
  • (e.g. medication, eyeglasses, hearing aid)
