Ravenswood Family Health Center
Invites the Community to a 5th Anniversary Celebration
EAST PALO ALTO – On Saturday, August 18th from 1pm
to 4 pm, Ravenswood Family Health Center is hosting an event
for the community at the main clinic at 1798 Bay Road in East
Palo Alto. “This 5th anniversary celebration is our
way of thanking the community for its wonderful support of
our health center,” says Luisa Buada, CEO.
The festivities will open with The Talons, a local professional
jazz group. They will be followed by traditional Aztec dancers
from Mexico City. Then County Supervisor Rose Jacobs Gibson
will be recognized for her support of the clinic’s efforts
to address health disparities along with East Palo Alto City
Council Member Ruben Abrica, who is leading a community-wide
health effort.
The event will feature a magic show and activities for children
and performances by several local ethnic dance groups. First
up will be the Soul Strutters from East Palo Alto, who will
lead the audience in line dances. Children from the EPA Drama
Team will performTongan and Hawaiian dances, and then young
men from Menlo-Atherton High School will perform a Maori war
dance called the Haka. The finale will be Mexican Folkloric
troupe performing dances from different regions of Mexico.
Given the diversity of the community, Ravenswood is offering
a variety of ethnic dishes. The event is free to the public.
Ravenswood Family Health Center (RFHC. has grown at an amazing
rate in its first five years, enrolling over 19,500 patients.

a mobile health van donated by Lucile Packard Children’s
Hospital and, as of September 2006, RFHC inherited the Belle
Haven Clinic, formerly run by the County. It is governed by
a volunteer community Board of Directors and this year will
serve over 10,000 patients.
