In 2014 Ravenswood provided 71,238 visits, including medical, dental, behavioral health and enabling services.
It draws on a diverse source of funding.
- Government grants
- Public health insurance reimbursements for services
- Charitable foundations and corporations
- Contributions from individuals and the private sector
- Fees collected from patients and their insurers
40% of our patients have no regular health insurance coverage.
The uninsured patients are expected to pay a sliding fee based on their income, but since most are living at 100% of the federal poverty level ($24,250 annual household income for family of 4) it is a hardship.
RFHC does receive limited reimbursement for categorical services such as prenatal, well child, family planning, and cancer detection, but many visits are uncompensated.
