Our medical team serves over 9,000 patients each year, providing primary healthcare, perinatal care, behavioral health counseling, and immunizations. Clinical Support
Front Office Assistant Volunteer
Providing high quality, culturally competent care is at the foundation of Ravenswood's mission. We will be "Going Live" with our new electronic practice management system, our first step in converting to electronic health records, on January 3rd, 2012. We need numerous volunteers to help in the waiting areas at our various sites to assist patients with forms. Spanish and Tongan speaking volunteers would be helpful! It's a big transition for Ravenswood, come be a part of it!
Central Supply Inventory Volunteer
Ravenswood serves well over 10,000 patients each year with a multitude of supplies that are located across two campuses and six buildings. The Central Supply Inventory Volunteer will help us to organize, inventory, and distribute our supplies, determine how much of each item should be kept in stock, and distribute supplies as needed. The ideal candidate would be focused and organized with experience in inventory management.
Patient Satisfaction Survey Volunteer
Providing high quality, culturally competent care is at the foundation of Ravenswood's mission. The Patient Satisfaction Survey Volunteer will administer surveys to patients asking about their experience at Ravenswood. This information will help Ravenswood's providers to identify areas of success and those needing improvement. Volunteers in this position must be proficient in either Spanish or Tongan.
Teaching Reading Volunteer
Illiteracy is difficult for anyone but it strikes those with a chronic disease particularly hard. A volunteer is needed to teach phonics and basic reading to patients with diabetes. The volunteer will be responsible for creating lesson plans and teaching two or three one hour classes each week for a minimum of 6 months. The classes will be taught in Spanish and, as such, the volunteer would need to be fluent in Spanish. The idea candidate would be a native Spanish speaker and have experience in education.
Time commitment: 3-4 months, up to 10 hours per week

Multimedia Projects
We are seeking volunteer journalists, photographers, and videographers to profile our patients, staff, and volunteers in a variety of media outlets. After an introduction to our organization and a brief training, you will work independently interviewing, photographing, and/or filming your subjects. As such, you should be warm and approachable yet professional. We are seeking creative, innovative, compelling pieces of work, and we hope you can help us share the story of our patients, clinic, and community.Spanish proficiency is preferred but is not a requirement.

Volunteer Audio Visual Specialist
The Open Volunteer Position: We are seeking a “tech-savvy” volunteer to improve our delivery of patient education in our clinic lobbies, as well as support other important projects. After an introduction to our organization, you will develop methods and protocols to display health education material in creative and innovative ways. We are seeking an individual with a strong background in audio-visual systems and applications. The volunteer should have strong experience in visual arts production, editing, sound and connectivity to ensure smooth display of the material. Hours are flexible! We hope you can help us bring innovative and effective health education to the many patients we serve. This will be a great opportunity to combine interests of technology and serving the community.
Requirements: Volunteer must have advanced knowledge about editing, sound, and other audio visual operations. Volunteers should commit 8-10 hours a week over a three month period on a number of projects related to patient and staff education.
Benefits: As a California Private Not-for-Profit Corporation, Ravenswood Family Health Center can authorize community service hours you may require for education. Projects are of a significant depth and breadth to qualify for student credits as approved by faculty at your educational institution.

Volunteer Photographer
Ravenswood Family Health Center (RFHC) is a non-profit Health Center that serves the medically underserved and low-income communities of East Palo Alto, East Menlo Park, and North Fair Oaks. We provide primary healthcare, perinatal care, dental, behavioral health, and enabling services to approximately 11,000 patients annually, 4,000 of whom are children. 97% of our patients live at or below 200% of the federal poverty line.
Our development department is seeking a professional, or amateur photographer with proven skills to support the ongoing capture of high quality photos of patients, providers, and events at our clinic sites. Hours for the volunteer role are flexible and can be based on discrete projects, or regular times.

Fund Development Intern

Our development department is seeking a fund development intern to assist in fundraising, planning, design, and grant writing. Discrete intern projects will be tailored according to need, intern interests, and skills; examples include: grants management, grant prospecting, grant writing, event coordination, graphic design, website development, and photography.
