Partners in Pursuit of Community Health
At Ravenswood Family Health Center, partnerships are key to providing the highest quality care to an ever-expanding patient population. By involving public agencies, private institutions, foundations, and individuals, we can multiply the resources and reach of our programs. We are fortunate to have medical partners, government partners, and community partners who collaborate with us on projects to improve the health of our patients.
Government Partners
Health Resources and Services Administration Bureau of Primary of Primary Care grant of $2,367,390 covers approximately half of the cost of primary care for our uninsured. The balance is raised through foundation grants and donors.
San Mateo County Health System supports RFHCs Integrated Behavioral Health program, Healthcare for the Homeless, and part of the cost for public health insurance eligibility and enrollment through the County’s Children's Health Initiative. Also, RFHC participates in ACE, the County's health coverage program for the uninsured managed by the Health Plan of San Mateo.
Medical Partners
- Lucile Packard Children's Hospital provides funding for a pediatrician and a social worker and support for Ravenswood Mobile Health Clinic's outreach to the schools. LPCH is the referral site for children for emergency care, speciality and hospitalization services.
- San Mateo Medical Center is the referral for adult emergency care and speciality services including mammography, imaging, X-ray, and inpatient services.
- Palo Alto Medical Foundation provides support to our Total Quality Management and Compliance programs.
- RFHC is a Stanford School of Medicine Pediatric continuity residency site
Community Partners
Get Fit EPA
To address the rising number of overweight children and adults in our community, RFHC initiated the Get Fit EPA community collaborative and led the effort to develop a multi-media social marketing campaign called City on the Move which was produced under the direction of EPA.net and its youth reporters in 2007-08.
East Palo Alto Asthma Taskforce
Seeks to address the causes of higher utilization of emergency room services in asthma crises. Statistics show that South County children utilize hospital emergency rooms for asthma three times more frequently than children elsewhere in the County.
East Palo Alto Mental Health Advisory
Works to improve access to mental health services, dispel cultural misconceptions and to advocate for mental health resources.
